Thou Sir Launcelot, there thou liest, that thou were never matched of earthly knight’s hand. And thou were the courteoust knight that ever bare shield. And thou were the truest friend to thy lover that ever bestrad horse. And thou were the truest lover of a sinful man that ever loved woman. And thou were the kindest man that ever struck with sword. And thou were the goodliest person that ever came among press of knights. And thou were the meekest man and the gentlest that ever ate in hall among ladies. And thou were the sternest knight to thy mortal foe that ever put spear in the rest.” Le Mort d’Arthur Book XXI, ch. 13 by Sir Thomas Malory
G.F. Evrard
Lover of Celtic legends and the mythical past of old Earth, G.F. Evrard lives in Brittany, land of his ancestors, which provides the inspiration for his novels and stories of barbarian fantasy. He has brought to life several barbaric heroes pulled from the darkest roots of fantastic myths, in particular Slaine Mac Turlogh, accursed prince of the Gaels for whom Didier NORMAND created several magnificent illustrations in the purest style of Frazetta. Evrard contributed to the anthology « Les enfants de Conan » (The Children of Conan) published in France by Eons for the centenary anniversary of Robert E. Howard’s birth; he has also written several articles for web magazines such as OUTREMONDE.

What passes for important to know for an author biography is often a piece of work that describes a life or events that are thrilling, educated or filled with irony. I am not so fortunate to be a thrilling person, my education was interrupted often by lack of effort, lack of money, or lack of good grades, and that I’ve succeeded enough to be writing this is the grand irony, as it is not ironic that I am a poet. It is not ironic that I would be willing to work with a French poet like Geoff; I took French language in university. The irony of life is that people who point to a poet’s general inability to fit in miss out on the voice that poet, all poets bring to the world.
The heroic myths and legends from the Arthurian legends always gave me hope, even when the characters acted more human than legendary. I would like to dedicate my portion of the work here to my brother, who defended me, who protected me, and made me laugh a great deal. He was my first hero.
