Abandoned Towers Artist Guidelines

We commision full color covers, and black and white interior illustrations, for each issue. We need to see examples of images you have done, but they don't necessarily have to be previous covers or published illustrations. Links to online galleries are fine.

We buy perpetual, non-exclusive rights to publish the image on our website, on products in our online stores and on any printed material which might be produced for the magazine. What this means is that if we accept a piece of art, we own the right to use it forever as long as that use is related to Abandoned Towers Magazine in some way. The artist retains the right to sell it to others or use it for other purposes, but understands that we will not remove it from our website or online stores or change any printed material it may appear on.

Payment

We negotiate payment with each artist individually, based on his or her terms and any special use we may have for the piece of art in question. Once a piece of art is accepted for publication, we will contact the artist to discuss payment and in no case will we publish a piece of art before the terms are agreed on.

We do use contracts, however we do not send contracts, nor accept them, until we have seen at least a sketch. We prefer to send payment back to the artist at the time we send the contract back; it prevents us from forgetting who's been paid.

If your work appears in an issue, you will also receive a complimentary pdf copy. We do not provide free print issues at this time.
